Shakh Alaa Elsayed, born in Cairo, moved to Toronto in the late 1970s. He was a goalie for Egypt's Junior National Team. Alaa holds a Shari'ah degree and studied Quran and comparative religion. He is a former Director of Religious Affairs at ISNA Canada and a member of the Canadian Council of Imams.
Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda is the Founder and President of Qalam. He is a founding faculty member at the Qalam Seminary where he teaches Sahih Bukhari, advanced Tafsir, Usul, Fiqh, Aqidah, and Balaghah. He has completed an extensive study of the life of the Prophet ﷺ in the Seerah Podcast. He annually teaches the Qur’an Intensive and Seerah Intensive, and leads groups on the Seerah Umrah tour, as well as to Masjid Al-Aqsa.
Shaykh Yahya Adel Ibrahim was born in Canada and is of Egyptian ancestry. He is known for his dedication to promoting multiculturalism and cross-cultural dialogue. He memorized the Quran and studied Islamic jurisprudence. He currently resides in Perth, Australia, and is involved in various educational and community initiatives.
Shaykh Bilal Ismail was born in Durban, South Africa, into a religious family. He memorized the Quran and holds a BA in Islamic Law from Madinah University. He is currently the Head of the Imam Development Program in South Africa, dedicated to training and supporting religious leaders.1
Shaykh Navaid Aziz is a Canadian Muslim public figure. Born and raised in Montreal, he pursued Islamic studies at the Islamic University of Madinah, graduating in Islamic Law. He has served as an Imam and Director of Religious Affairs in Calgary. He is also involved with Al-Maghrib Institute and Yaqeen Institute.
